About This Experience
Sail in the wake of the greatest voyage ever told. Over seven days in the Ionian Sea you follow the legendary route of Ulysses (Odysseus) on his ten-year journey home, brought vividly to life by the sweeping cinema retelling of Homer's Odyssey. A resident storyteller reads passages of the epic on deck each evening as you anchor beneath the very islands Homer sang of — the Phaeacian shores of Corfu, the sea caves said to be carved by Poseidon, and the nymph-haunted grottoes of Kefalonia. Every leg draws you closer to Ithaca, the hero's homeland, where the voyage ends as his did: with a triumphant homecoming.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Corfu — Land of the Phaeacians
Embark in Corfu, ancient Scheria, where a shipwrecked Ulysses was welcomed by Princess Nausicaa and King Alcinous — his final refuge before Ithaca. Welcome dinner and the first reading of the Odyssey on deck.
Day 2: Paxos & Antipaxos — Poseidon's Isles
Sail south to Paxos, said in legend to have been struck from Corfu by Poseidon's trident. Swim in the luminous blue sea caves and anchor off Antipaxos for an afternoon of turquoise water.
Day 3: Lefkada — The Contested Ithaca
Cross to Lefkada, which some scholars argue was Homer's true Ithaca. Explore the old town and taverna dinner, with a reading on the theories of where the hero's kingdom truly lay.
Day 4: Kefalonia — The Nymph's Cave
Anchor at Sami and descend into the Melissani Cave, a sunlit underground lake once dedicated to the nymphs — echoing the sacred grottoes of the Odyssey. Afternoon at Antisamos beach.
Day 5: Zakynthos — Realm of Ulysses
Sail to Zakynthos (Homer's Zacynthus), named among the islands of Ulysses' kingdom in the epic. Visit the Blue Caves and swim in secluded coves before the final leg north to Ithaca.
Day 6: Ithaca — The Cave of the Nymphs
Arrive at last in Ithaca, the hero's homeland. Anchor at Vathy and hike to the Cave of the Nymphs, where legend says Ulysses hid the treasures gifted by the Phaeacians on his return.
Day 7: Ithaca — The Homecoming
The voyage ends as the Odyssey does. Explore the archaeological site known as the School of Homer near Stavros, thought by many to be Ulysses' palace, then raise a farewell toast to the hero's homecoming.
